FAQ

How do I make an appointment?

Please use the portal link to schedule an appointment at your convenience.

How long is a typical session?
Sessions are either 50 or 75 minutes.
Where does the session take place?
Our session together occurs on your couch or in your office. Since I work with clients with busy schedules, all the sessions are virtual for your convenience.
How do I pay?
Please use the portal link to ensure that you have a card on file. After each session, I will bill your card automatically.
Do you take my insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider. Therefore, I do not have a working relationship with an insurance company. If your insurance company reimburses for therapy, I am happy to provide a superbill (documentation to turn into the insurance company). You will need to inquire about this through your insurance company.
What is the cancellation policy?

Use the portal link to cancel a session at least 20 hours in advance. I will bill you for the total rate if you fail to cancel a session less than 20 hours before the scheduled time.

Do you offer same-day sessions?
Yes. Emergency sessions are available at the same-day rate.
Are you a Christian counselor?
I work with people from different faith traditions and non-faiths. I will include faith as it is appropriate for the client. Here’s a fun fact: I was a chaplain for five years before I became a therapist.
Is there anyone you will not see?
I don’t see couples actively in an affair or where there is active physical abuse.
How long will I be in therapy?
The length of time in therapy depends on the frequency of your appointments. I see the average client for eight months.
